Can anything speak for the 50’s more than these vintage freckle-faced Kreiss Ceramics Happy New Year Salty and Peppy salt and pepper shakers???
I love them..so darn cute! Not only are their freckles adorable but the playful way the girl is looking up and the mischievous expression on the boy as he blows his horn.
Kreiss & Company was started in 1939 by Murray Kreiss in San Diego who began importing ceramics from Japan. He imported a large variety of novelty ceramics including salt and pepper shakers. The company quit dealing in ceramics in the late 60s.
This is a fun old set in very good vintage condition
Each measures as follows;
Salty – 4 1/8 inches tall, 2 1/2 inches across the front and 2 inches front to back. Peppy – 4 inches tall, 3 across the front and 1 1/2 inches front to back.
